A DDR SDRAM module consists of 184 pins which have a data point 64 bits. Physically DDR has only one hole on the pin. So that distinguishes it from SDRAM. All kinds of good DDR PC 1600, 2100, 2700, 3200 have the same number of pins. Excess DDR is to have technology that can improve data throughput Memory 2 x faster than SDRAM, because work on the buses 200 and 266 MHz.
